The 14 candidates running for three Lehi City Council seats
will be introduced to voters tonight (Thursday, August 1) at Willowcreek Middle
School, located at 2275 W 300 N in
Lehi. The event will be held in the orchestra room and will begin at 7 p.m. All
Lehi voters are encouraged to attend.
The event is sponsored
by the Lehi Free Press and Point of the Mountain Chamber of Commerce. Utah
State Senator Jacob Anderegg will serve as the master of ceremonies and Lehi
Free Press city reporters Nicole Kunze and Gina Halladay will be moderators.
Candidates will answer questions
they have received prior to the debate focusing on Lehi growth and development
and parks and recreation. They will also answer impromptu questions. Due to the
number of candidates running and time constraints, questions will not be
accepted from audience members.
From the field of 14
candidates, the top six vote-getters will emerge from the primary to be
included on the general election ballot. Most registered voters have received
their primary ballots in the mail. Primary election day is Tuesday, August 13.
The general election will be held on Tuesday, November 5.
