Kent Thrasher to celebrate 80th birthday

Kent Thrasher was born on November 20, 1937, to Adelaide and Edwin Thrasher in Lehi, Utah.  Kent grew up in Lehi attending Lehi Elementary and Lehi High School.  He was the Thespian Club President, was on the Track and Field team, participating in the high jump and he played on the Lehi High School basketball team and graduated in 1956.

Kent continued his education at the College of Southern Utah from 1956-1958, after which he attended Brigham Young University, graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Banking in 1961.  Kent was a member of the Army National Guard for 12 years as part of the 1457 Engineers Battalion and the 19th Special Forces as a 2nd Lieutenant.

Kent married his High School sweetheart DeAnn (Russon) in 1958. He worked in the insurance industry, in life insurance, annuities and in estate planning. Kent also worked for Hercules and dabbled in the mining of precious metals. Kent is an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, has served in many callings, including as a bishop, and currently serves as an ordinance worker in the Mt. Timpanogos Temple.

Kent and DeAnn successfully served a mission in the West African, Nigeria, Uyo & Ghana Cape Coast Missions. They have 4 children, 11 grandchildren and 10 ½ great grandchildren. Kent will celebrate his 80th birthday at a dinner with his family. Happy 80th birthday Kent!
