Obituaries: Lois Fay Peterson Hampton

Lois Fay Peterson Hampton passed away August 12, 2016 at her home in Lehi surrounded by her family. She was born November 23, 1930 to James LeRoy and Verda Louis Peterson of Lehi.

Lois grew up in Lehi and graduated from Lehi High School.  She was a Rodeo Queen for Pleasant Grove Strawberry Days and worked as a nurse for Dr. Eddington. She married Leland Glen Hampton in Elko, Nevada on June 7, 1952. She later retired as a Nurses Aid from American Fork Hospital.

Lois loved bowling and won the state tournament in 1981. She enjoyed skiing and hiked Mt. Timpanogos 17 times. She was an avid gardener and had the best yard on the block. Lois is fondly remembered as always willing to help anyone at any time and put everyone else before herself.

Survived by her husband Leland, sons; Leland Scott Hampton (Barbara). Guy Lewis Hampton (Roz), LeRoy P. Hampton (Patricia), grandchildren; Don Hampton, Royce Hampton, Mandy Siefert, Chris Hampton, 6 Great Grandchildren, brother Buzz Lewis Peterson and sister Alice Webb. Preceded in death by her parents, sister, Virginia Phillips and grandchild Jeff Hampton. A graveside service will be held Thursday, August 18, 2016 at 12:00 Noon in the American Fork Cemetery, 600 North 100 East. Online guest book at http://www.wingmortuary.com.
