In the Lehi City Council meeting on July 12, 2016, American Legion Post 19 Commander Quinn Allred and Service Officer Carl Moore presented a $4,000 check to Lehi City for Post 19’s agreed upon portion to cover the upgrades to the Lehi City Cemetery Veteran Memorial Wall.

Prior to the construction of the new extensions, or “wings” on the Veteran Wall, Post 19 agreed to help cover the cost, and in the city council meeting they made good on their promise.

Lehi City Mayor Bert Wilson expressed gratitude on behalf the council: “We totally appreciate the efforts you put on in this city—for the flags, the cemetery, the funeral, the wall,” said Mayor Wilson. “We can’t thank the Veterans and (American) Legion enough for all that you do for our community.” In return, Moore expressed gratitude for Lehi’s support, “I want to thank Lehi for the support and things we receive from the city.” As Moore and Allred returned to their seats, the room applauded.

Readers are encouraged to visit the Lehi City cemetery where the veteran memorial wall can be viewed. Lehi Free Press also encourages readers to view the presentation; a great 10 minutes of local citizens in action via https://www.lehi-ut.gov/government/public-meetings/.
