New ophthalmology practice opens in Lehi

In September 2018, new Lehi medical clinic, Waite Vision Ophthalmology, held a grand opening at 3333 N Digital Dr, Suite 300.

Dr. Aaron Waite offered tours of the new office and explained the motivation for its design. “Unfortunately, ophthalmology has turned into a volume game. The tricky thing with insurance is that in order to make more money you need to be seeing as many patients as you can in one day. It’s a shame, really. I don’t want my patients feeling like a checkbox. My goal was to create an office that makes my patients feel comfortable and at home,” said Dr. Waite. The office layout is quite open and large so that patients will not have to move quickly from room to room to use different machines.

Dr. Waite attended Brigham Young University for his undergraduate studies, then University of Utah for medical school. Waite did further post-graduate work at the University of Tennessee, and an extra year at the University of Colorado as a cornea specialist. Dr. Waite was also practiced medicine for several years in Las Vegas, Nevada.

“Lehi is a perfect match for our office because of the growth in technology,” said Dr. Waite. “We’ve had patients visit all the way from neighboring states. Our goal is to be an international practice.”

“Other Ophthalmology practices have already begun referencing us. We are one out of maybe three offices in Utah County that perform LASIK treatment. We like doing this treatment for our patients because it saves them the hassle of getting contacts and glasses. Over time the cost of glasses and contacts add up to the same amount as getting a LASIK procedure. What people need to know is that LASIK is painless and only takes 10-15 minutes on each eye,” said Dr. Waite.
