Do you know a kid that likes to read? Even better, are you that kid? If so, you can read a book, write a short review to win a $20 gift card to Chick-fil-A.

The Lehi Free Press is hosting a Summer Reading and Writing Challenge for all school-age kids 2nd – 12th grade. A winner will be awarded weekly from June 18th – August 21st and will be highlighted in the Lehi Free Press.

The rules are simple – read an age and grade level appropriate book. Send in a picture of yourself with the book you chose, along with your review of that book. Parents are allowed to help younger readers with the typing or can send in scans of legible handwritten reviews.

Tips for Winning:

A good book review will answer some of these questions

  • What is the book about? You don’t need to tell the whole story— just give an idea of what it’s about.
  • Do you think other people would like it?
  • Did you think it was funny or sad?
  • Did you learn something from the book?
  • Did you think it was interesting?
  • Would you want to read it again?
  • Would you want to read other books by the same author or about the same subject?
  • What was your favorite part?

If you win, your picture and review will be printed in the weekly edition of the Lehi Free Press.

Get reading, do a little writing, and send in those reviews!

Please send book reviews, with names and addresses or questions to Jennifer Wirth at lfpjenwirth@gmail.com
